Eversource is being fined for environmental violations in Franklin County.
The utility company is agreeing to pay a penalty of nearly 118-thousand dollars for doing work in Northfield, Rowe and Ashfield without proper wetlands permits, according to the state Department of Environmental Protection.
Eversource will also have to review any other Western Massachusetts projects it has conducted in the last several years and create a restoration or mitigation plan if the work was done without proper permits, according to the DEP.
