The Massachusetts Environmental Police is issuing a reminder about the rules against taking meat from roadkill.
Authorities reportedly seized one-hundred pounds of moose meat that had wound up as roadkill somewhere in Western Massachusetts last Wednesday and donated it to a local organization.
The Environmental Police says it and MassWildlife are the only entities in the state that can authorize the salvage of moose, bear or deer in those situations.
