The public can learn more about a proposed recreational marijuana shop in Springfield today.
The proposed shop is at the former Thorn Industries property on Cottage Street in East Springfield, about a half-mile from an existing medical marijuana location.
The Springfield Cannabis Company will present information at the community meeting at the John Boyle O'Reilly Club on Progress Avenue at 3 p.m.
Another retail pot shop is being proposed in the former Hampden Savings Bank in downtown Springfield.
The meeting has been under fire for its timing.
Most people who want to attend are probably working.
