The superintendent of public schools in Longmeadow is not getting his contract renewed.
This despite clear support from the public for Dr. Martin O'Shea at a meeting on Wednesday as the Longmeadow School Committee discussed the matter.
There has been tension between the committee and O'Shea centering around his job performance.
The school board voted 4-to-3 not to renew the contract, which is up at the end of the school year.
The Superintendent hasn't commented yet.
