The residential tax rate in Springfield is being kept the same.
City Council made the decision to follow the recommendations of Mayor Domenic Sarno by a 10-to-2 vote on Wednesday.
The commercial tax rate will increase by two cents for every one-thousand dollars of property value.
The council was originally scheduled to vote on the recommendations on Monday but delayed the decision after hearing from concerned residents and businesses.
The rates mean that the average residential customer will see their taxes increase by little less than a hundred bucks because valuations have increased.
