Some people in the region are having trouble calling 911 on their cellphones.
Law enforcement agencies throughout the area say residents are having trouble getting through to the emergency number because of Century Link service outages that are currently being worked on.
State Police spokesman David Procopio says this morning that people in need of 911 should use landlines.
That section of the system is working.
If you are calling Northampton State Police 413-586-1508
Shelburne Control PSAP 413-625-8200
Wilbraham 413- 596-3837
Ludlow 413- 583-8305
It appears that the issue is only with cell phones and does not have anything to do with landlines.
The company says it is a Network element that went down.
