The firing of a Springfield police officer has been overturned by an arbitrator.
Officer Anthony Bedinelli had been fired last year following an alleged off-duty incident. In a statement,
Mayor Domenic Sarno says a citizens complaint had been investigated and found that police department rules and regulations had been violated prompting the dismissal.
According the mayor's office it's the second time Bedinelli has been terminated by the police department, only to have the decision reversed.
Neither the Mayor nor the Police Commissioner were able to say when the reinstatement date will be for the officer.
