The union representing Stop and Shop employees in Western Massachusetts is informing its members of a vote for either a new contract or to authorize a strike.
UFCW Local 1459 says the vote will take place at a meeting in Chicopee on Sunday morning and is asking all members to attend.
The contract between Stop and Shop and thousands of New England employees expired last month.
One local has already authorized a strike.
Wages, pensions and healthcare are the key issues to a contract.
