Supporters of youth tackle football are making their voices heard as lawmakers consider a bill that would ban children from playing the sport before eighth grade.
Parents and coaches were among those who gathered at the Statehouse in Boston yesterday.
They oppose the proposed legislation, which would fine violators up to two-thousand dollars.
Still, the measure does have numerous supporters from medical and sports communities, including the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts and New England Patriot Ted Johnson.
Former Patriots star Andre Tippet says that he cant understand why lawmakers would try to make a decision that is better left in the hands of parents.
