A 24 year old woman is dead.
A 48 year old man is charged with her death after a motor vehicle accident in Chicopee.
Police Spokesman Michael Wilk says that two people were walking in the area around 460 Chicopee Street when a car went up onto the sidewalk and hit the two pedestrians an took off on foot.
Two Good Samaritans followed the man and detained him until police arrived.
That man, identified as David Delgado of Chicopee has been arrested.
Police say that he is charged with Operating Under The Influence and Motor Vehicle Homicide.
Delgado will be arraigned on those charges in Chicopee District Court on Monday.
