Comments on the passing of Boston Celtics legend John Havlicek are coming out of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
Havlicek popularized the integral role of the sixth man and is regarded as one of the best in NBA history.
Hall of Fame president and CEO John Doleva said he had a unique balance of modesty and competitive spirit and was certainly a fan favorite in Boston.
Havlicek, who was inducted into the Hall in 1984, died at the age of 79.
The family hasn't talked about funeral arrangements or cause of death.
The Hall of Famer did have Parkinson's Disease.
