Officer Removed From Springfield School

A police officer has been removed from a post at a Springfield school because of alleged misconduct.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno says he, along with acting Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood and Springfield Public Schools Superintendent Daniel Warwick, ordered the removal of the officer from Kiley Middle School.

The Springfield Police Department will be among the agencies to investigate the incident, which reportedly developed out of an interaction with a student.

The officer hasn't been identified.

Officials aren't saying anything about the nature of the interaction between the officer and the student.
