A planned natural gas facility in Longmeadow is being addressed at a town meeting tonight.
A citizen petition, Article 42, supports adopting bylaws to ensure there is adequate protection of citizens and the environment from risks and hazards associated with natural gas facilities.
The Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company wants to put a metering station in Longmeadow.
Voters will also be asked in a non-binding referendum at next month's town election if they want to spend money for a land purchase as an attempted thwarting of the station.
