It had been actually more than a decade in the making but the groundbreaking for a 38 million dollar renovation of The Paramount Theater, the Hippodrome, is slated for today.
The New England Farm Workers and Herbi Flores bought the building and the project is financed with a combination of tax credits, state, city and private financing.
The project, besides the 18 hundred seat theater, includes the Massasoit Building which will become an 85 room hotel.
The project should be completed by 2021.
