The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission is providing an update about drinking water.
The commission says testing results from June 3rd showed levels of H-A-A-5, a contaminant caused by chlorine.
Customers are being told that this is not an emergency and that there is no need for corrective actions such as boiling water.
The commission says higher-than-typical H-A-A-5 levels have been caused by higher-than-normal rainfall in 2018, and that it is modifying its treatment process to bring the levels down.
