The mother of a teen who was mistaken for a burglar and fatally shot in Chicopee is filing a wrongful death suit against the homeowner who faced charges after the incident.
A Hampden Superior Court Judge found Jeffrey Lovell not guilty of manslaughter in 2018 for the shooting of 15-year-old Dylan Francisco.
Lovell shot Francisco through a door.
The wrongful death suit was filed earlier this month against Lovell and his wife by Heather Francisco.
The Springfield Republican reports that the suit is for 750 thousand dollars.
