Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno says the city is investigating after a small child was pricked by what may have been a used needle.
The revelation comes from a parent of a child who was playing at a park at the corner of Morris and Main Street.
The child is being treated as a precaution.
The Springfield Mayor issuing a statement over the weekend.
“My thoughts, prayers and encouragement to the young child and his family that he will be okay. I was able to express that to Mr. and Mrs. Cloud and their son Zachary, and also the following actions we will be undertaking on the situation."
"I have asked that they follow up with me and my office after they receive their medical review.”
The Mayor called it a pleasant conversation.
