The Agawam driver accused of striking two police officers in Deerfield appeared in court on Monday.
Timothy Avery pleaded not guilty in Greenfield District Court to charges including OUI-drugs and negligent motor vehicle operation after two officers were seriously injured on Route 5 in Deerfield over the weekend.
Avery's attorney told the court that he had a history of losing consciousness while driving and may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
