Springfield Mayor Dom Sarno has been sworn in for his fifth term in office.
He becomes the longest serving mayor in Springfield history.
He told residents that his goal is for solidarity among city residents.
He said that it is an important goal to bring economic development to all parts of the city, not just the downtown area.
After his address, he told reporters that he is already looking forward to running for re-election in 2023.
He did not rule out a possible run for state office.
But he did not elaborate nor did he say if it was very likely.
Agawam Mayor William Sapelli and Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer were both sworn in for a second term.

In Westfield, Don Humason says that he is ready to leave. The former state senator says that he plans to use that experience to move the city forward to bigger and better things.
