The Springfield Water and Sewer Commission is issuing a drinking water safety notification.
The commission said yesterday that a regulatory limit for the maximum allowance of haloacetic acid 5, or HAA-5, was exceeded in samples last month.
All customer addresses in Springfield and Ludlow will be notified on their bills.
The commission says this is not a public health emergency, but the notification is for the sake of transparency and in accordance with state law.
