The U.S. Attorney's Office is dismissing a police brutality case against a former Springfield police detective.
Steven Vigneault had been charged along with his former Springfield PD partner, Gregg Bigda, with assaulting juvenile suspects during an arrest in 2016.
But the DOJ yesterday pointed to new evidence that indicates one of the juveniles testified at the end of last month that it was Bigda, not Vigneault, who kicked him in the face.
Federal charges against Bigda remain.
