The dropout rate for Springfield Public Schools from 2019 represents an all-time low.
That's the word from school officials, citing new data from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
The rate from last year was four-point-four percent, which officials say represents a drop of more than 50 percent over the last seven years.
In a statement, Mayor Domenic Sarno credited the leadership of school superintendent Daniel Warwick and his staff, as well as principals, teachers, students and their families, for the improvement.
