The Western Massachusetts Council of the Boy Scouts says it is unaffected by the bankruptcy filing of the Boy Scouts of America.
The filing comes as the BSA faces hundreds of lawsuits over claims of sex abuse by scout leaders.
In a statement, the Western Massachusetts Council says it does not want the filing to discourage people from participating and joining local troops.
