Amherst College is switching to remote learning after spring break, starting March 23rd, in response to the coronavirus outbreak. Classes are canceled on Thursday and Friday of this week and students are expected to have left campus by next Monday, the 16th; only students who have remained in residence over spring break will be allowed to stay on campus to do their remote learning, according to the college. Amherst says the campus will remain open and all faculty and staff should continue their regular work schedules. The college says because the duration of the disruption is unclear, students should take as many of their belongings with them as possible.
We are getting more numbers from the State Health Department on the number of Coronavirus cases in the Commonwealth.
