There was a police-involved shooting in West Springfield on Friday.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, Enrique Gonzalez of Framingham, a wanted fugitive on child pornography and drug distribution charges, was observed exiting a motel room and attempting to enter into a parked car.
Troopers reportedly ordered him to surrender, but Gonzalez ran and fired a handgun at authorities.
State police reports say troopers returned fire, striking Gonzalez, who is expected to survive. No troopers were injured.
