State Records 328 Coronavirus Cases-Many More Expected

The total number of coronavirus cases in Massachusetts as of Thursday was 328.

Berkshire County continues to have the highest number of cases in Western Massachusetts, with 18.

There are only four cases in Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties, according to state health department information.

The state has not reported any deaths caused by COVID-19.

Meantime, Governor Charlie Baker says a huge increase in coronavirus testing will happen soon in Massachusetts.

Baker says the state's capacity to screen people for the virus still is lagging well below needed levels.

The governor says the number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the state rose by more than 70 yesterday, and now stands at 328.

Baker says he hopes the state will be able to test 35-hundred people a day in the near future.
