New Rules For Massachusetts Store Owners

Supermarkets in the Commonwealth are now under orders to reduce the number of customers in stores at any one time.

The state has directed them to operate at 40-percent of normal occupancy.

The goal is to further promote social distancing as a way to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Other communities have been installing various limits.

Northampton bases their limits on the square footage of a store.

A 24 hundred square foot facility could only have 10 people in it at a time.
