Pointing At May 18th For Commonwealth To Reopen

Governor Charlie Baker is urging state residents to cooperate with the state's coronavirus contact tracing program. Baker says a team of around one thousand callers are reaching out to people infected with the virus and others they have been in contact with. The governor says answering the caller's questions is a person's chance to be part of the fight to contain and limit the spread of coronavirus. Officials believe testing and tracing is a key to controlling the virus and reopening the economy.

The Governor still hopes to be able to reopen the state on May 18th.

In Connecticut, Governor Ned Lamont says that unless there is some kind of a spike in cases out of either New York or Boston, the state will be opened slowly and in phases May 20th. That will include allowing offices, retail stores, hair and nail salons and outdoor eating areas at restaurants to reopen. However, people who have the ability to work from home would be encouraged to continue.
