An addition twenty-two coronavirus-related deaths were reported on Thursday in Western Massachusetts.
The death toll in Western Mass has increased to four-hundred-75. The number of residents at the Holyoke Soldier's Home who have died in a coronavirus outbreak at the facility is now seventy-one.
The latest numbers:
Hampden County reporting 3,777 confirmed cases with about a third of them from the City of Springfield.
Hampshire County 546 confirmed cases.
Berkshire County: 442 confirmed cases.
Franklin County 257 confirmed cases.
Meantime, The city of Northampton says coronavirus-testing of the homeless is indicating a minimal presence of the disease.
The city conducted testing this week at Northampton High School. Northampton Health Department Director Merridith O'Leary noted in a statement that some homeless shelters in the state had had positive rates as high as sixty percent.
Elsewhere in the Pioneer Valley, testing of fifty homeless individuals at the Craig's Doors shelter in Amherst has reportedly yielded zero virus cases.
