A Black Lives Matter demonstration in Springfield remained non-violent on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
There were about three-thousand protesters who marched to the Springfield Police Department.
Local police officers had backup from the Massachusetts State Police in riot gear as well as the National Guard and Hampden County Sheriff's Department.
Although tensions occasionally rose, no arrests were made.
