Hurricane watches are up for portions of Florida's east coast ahead of Hurricane Isaias. According to the National Hurricane Center, the watches are up from just north of Deerfield Beach to the Volusia-Brevard County line. Tropical Storm warnings are also in place in portions of the state. Isaias is currently about 295 miles southeast of Nassau, Bahamas. Maximum sustained winds are at 75 miles-per-hour and moving to the northwest at 16 miles-per-hour. The forecast track of Isaias has the Storm near the east coast of Florida Saturday afternoon into Sunday and could strengthen into a category two hurricane.
Massachusetts officials continue to watch the track of the storm with most people looking toward The Cape. Officials at the Massachusetts Emergency Management say the current track could hit parts of The Cape around 8 Tuesday night.
Forecasters tell us there is a chance that we could see Tropical Storm force winds. Those generally are considered somewhere between 39 and 80 miles per hour. But it depends on where you are as to how much of a chance you are going to have to deal with winds. Nantucket: 23% Hyannis: 17% Boston: 12% Worcester: 10% Springfield: 9%.
