Western Massachusetts still had about thirty-thousand power outages between National Grid and Eversource as of overnight Thursday after Tropical Storm Isaias.
National Grid said the storm brought heavy, damaging winds and rain to New England on Tuesday, knocking down full trees and limbs and contributing to widespread power outages across the region. Hampden,, WIlbraham and East Longmeadow are trouble spots. The hope is to have those communities totally on the grid by Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
Eversource reports more than 500 still without power in Agawam.
About 35 hundred in Springfield still without power. Officials say most of western Mass was back on the grid at midnight this morning. The rest should have their power restored by midnight tonight.
Berkshire and Worcester counties were described as the hardest-hit areas in the state.
