Several attorneys general are considering suing the Trump Administration over changes at the U.S. Postal Service. The Washington Post reports those states include Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington. They want to stop cuts to mail service from now through Election Day.
Attorney General Maura Healey is in talks with colleagues in other states over a possible lawsuit to protect the U.S. Postal Service. Healey says she and other attorneys general are considering all legal options to prevent interference with postal activities. President Donald Trump has been accused of trying to sabotage the upcoming elections by making changes to the postal service. Trump has complained that expanding voting by mail with more absentee ballots will leave the election wide open for voting fraud.
Massachusetts Congressman Steven Lynch calls it a "constitutional crisis." He is calling for hearings with the US Postmaster General on changes that he has made that democrats believe are hampering the mail-in voting system. The House Speaker is bringing The House back. The Senate hasn't decided what they will do if they get the House measure.
