Postmaster General Promises No Immediate Post Office Changes

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy says there will be no big changes made at the U.S. Postal Service until after the election. DeJoy says he wants to avoid the appearance that any changes pushed forward would affect the election. Western and Central Massachusetts Congressman Jim McGovern had accused the Trump administration of sabotaging the postal service.

Yesterday, the Massachusetts Attorney General announced a lawsuit was being filed to stop the changes.

Meantime, as Congress gets ready to meet this weekend to pass a 25 billion dollar bill for the USPS, Secretary of the Commonwealth Bill Galvin says Early Voting will begin this weekend in Massachusetts.

Galvin says the early voting must be offered in every community in the Commonwealth and include Saturday hours.

The actual state primary is September 1st.
