There were no new coronavirus deaths reported in Western Massachusetts on Wednesday.
There were four new cases reported in Hampden County, which has increased to seven-thousand-793, and four new cases reported in Berkshire County, which has gone up to six-hundred-76 cases.
The Western Mass total number of COVID-19 cases this year is now ten-thousand-56.
Monson is being added as a high-risk area for coronavirus cases in Massachusetts.
The state's weekly update on Wednesday indicates the Hampden County town is the only municipality in Western Massachusetts that is "red" on the color-coordinated map.
Monson Public Schools is delaying the start of in-person learning to September 21st because of a cluster of a dozen cases in a week, according to the school district superintendent.
