Governor Offers Program To Help Businesses In Need

Governor Charlie Baker is proposing a 668-million-dollar coronavirus relief program for small businesses in Massachusetts. Baker says sectors of the economy hardest hit by the pandemic will receive priority in the program. These include restaurants and bars, gyms and event venues. Around half of the money will be dedicated to companies that applied for the state's first round of relief funding and were shut out. Meantime, the additional restrictions designed to prevent a holiday spiking of Covid19 numbers begins on Saturday. Many business owners say that it will be very difficult to make money with limited foot traffic.
