Judge Stops Trials Because Of Covid Spread

Trials in Springfield's federal court are being canceled for three months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

U.S. District Judge Mark Mastroianni made the call last Wednesday, canceling two pending criminal trials.

Springfield is the first federal court in Massachusetts to make such a move, as judges in Worcester and Boston have yet to follow suit.

The Judge has not indicated a date specific for a return to trials.
