Storm Expected To Dump Snow Through Tuesday Morning

Somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-million Americans are under winter storm warnings, watches, and advisories this morning as a monster storm bears down on the East Coast. Blizzard conditions could dump as much as two feet of snow on some areas and New York City could get up to a foot of snow today. Meantime, in the greater Springfield area forecasters are looking at somewhere between 6 and 10 inches of snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the entire state until tomorrow morning. The region is expected to receive between seven and 18 inches of snow before the storm moves away tomorrow.

Hazardous road conditions are expected, and the weather service warns that strong winds could also bring down tree branches.

The Springfield Mayor has already announced the closing of City Hall at 3PM this afternoon.
