The U.S. Capitol police officer killed when he was rammed by a vehicle in Washington DC grew up in Massachusetts.
Officer Billy Evans was born in North Adams and was raised in the Berkshire County town of Clarksburg.
Evans lived in the DC area for many years after leaving Massachusetts, and had been a Capitol police officer since 2003.
He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
Funeral arrangements have not been made public yet.
