Judge Blocks End To National Pandemic Eviction Protection

A federal judge is denying a request from a group of landlords to resume evictions.

That ruling means the national eviction moratorium will stay in place for now.

The policy was enacted at the start of the pandemic as many were laid off and told to stay home.

The goal was to keep them out of crowded shelters.

But now, renters across the nation are worried about becoming homeless as the CDC's moratorium expires at the end of the month.
