Public Hearing Set For Bus Proposals

The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority will hold a public hearing Thursday morning to hear public input on a plan to make bus rides free for seniors on Tuesdays, as well as capping the cost of a bus pass at 54 dollars.

Through the use of the PVTA APP officials will be able to monitor usage of weekly passes and when a rider hits 31 days in a row--the monthly rate will kick in- saving riders some cash.

The monthly buss pass is 54 bucks—weekly passes are 15 bucks a week.

There is further good news for riders. PVTA says there will be no increases at the fare box.
