Legislation has been filed to improve oversight of the state's Soldiers' Homes.
It's based on a series of recommendations from a special joint legislative committee that investigated the deadly coronavirus outbreak at the Holyoke Soldier's Home in the spring of 2020.
Sponsors say the legislation will reform and replace a deficient system of governance and ensure the Soldiers' Homes in Holyoke and Chelsea are operated in a transparent manner.
