The Agawam City Council this week is being asked to bless a feasibility study for a potential new high school. The current structure was built in the 1950’s and sits next to what will be the new library on Cooper Street.
After the study is agreed to, state officials will come in and make recommendations on what should be done about rehabbing or rebuilding the current structure.
City officials say Agawam has been left out in the past since most surrounding communities have gotten new school buildings.
Passage of the feasibility study is expected.
