Councilor Wants A-G Probe Into Springfield Cannabis Awards

A Springfield City Councilor is calling on the Attorney General to investigate the entire process of awarding marijuana licenses in the city. Justin Hurst says he knew the process was flawed and he is calling on both the Attorney General and the Cannabis Control Commission to begin their own investigation. Hurst in a statement this weekend says that the investigation should hold people accountable for excluding viable companies at the expense of those with political connections.

“It is my hope that the Attorney General and the Cannabis Control Commission will investigate how all of these errors occurred and who benefited as a result. Any investigation conducted should start with the applicant who finished in 6th place and their connection to the administration; the same applicant who but for the scoring error, would have had to wait until Phase III of the marijuana selection process to receive a Host Community Agreement. “
