Half of Western Mass is under a Winter Storm Warning from the National Weather Service, and the other half is included in a Winter Weather Advisory on Friday.
The weather service is predicting at least one-tenth of an inch of ice for the Pioneer Valley and up to a half-inch of ice in the Berkshires.
Franklin and Berkshire counties are also expected to get several inches of sleet and snow.
Area DPW Crews say they were unable to pretreat any of the roads because of all the rain. It would have washed away all that they put down.
Drivers are asked to use extreme caution on the roads.
