The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that Boston violated the Constitution by refusing to fly a Christian flag at City Hall in 2017.
The ruling indicates that the city violated the First Amendment rights of the West Roxbury man who sought to raise the flag to mark Constitution Day.
The nation's highest court was unanimous in ruling against Boston.
The request to fly a flag with a cross on it by Harold Shurtleff was the only one rejected out of close to 300 requests between 2005 and 2017.
City Officials have yet to comment.
