Springfield State Representative Carlos González, House Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, is seeking change in the cannabis industry. He has filed an amendment as part of the House version of the bill which seeks to create a Cannabis Social Equity Trust Fund.
The fund wound provide loans to entrepreneurs from communities that have been disproportionately impacted by marijuana prohibition and enforcement.
"It is imperative for us to ensure that our local communities of color are being represented in and benefiting from the economic gains that the cannabis industry will continue to produce in Massachusetts", said Representative Gonzalez.
