Heatwave, But Not The Drought Ending Later Today

A week-long heat wave in Southern New England is about to come to an end.

However, Tuesday could possibly be the hottest day during the wave so far, as the National Weather Service is predicting heat index values in the Pioneer Valley of up to 104 degrees.

We could see some scattered thunderstorms through the late morning and mid afternoon. But, it does not appear any rain that we will get will be anywhere close to breaking the drought.

Starting Wednesday, the weather service is forecasting high temperatures for the city of Springfield in the lower 80s through the beginning of next week.
