The MBTA's month-long shutdown of the Orange Line subway route is almost over.
Governor Charlie Baker's office says service is scheduled to resume on Monday, September 19th, according to WBZ-TV.
The unprecedented shutdown was for a massive track maintenance project.
The general manager of the T says new Orange Line cars built by CRRC in Springfield will make up a majority of the fleet when commuters return.
The number of new cars on the Orange Line will double from 30 to 60.
