Region Mourns Loss Of Bristol Officers

Hundreds of people attended last night's vigil for two Bristol police officers who were shot and killed Wednesday night.

Governor Ned Lamont was among the dignitaries honoring the sacrifice of Police Sergeant Dustin Demonte and officer Alex Hamzy at the Bristol Eastern High School vigil.

Dozens of police officers from all over the region lined the hallway as mourners entered the school for the vigil.

The crowd was so large that an overflow room with TV monitors was arranged in the school cafeteria.

Meantime, the investigation into the tragedy continues.

Investigators believe that the three officers were set up by a fake domestic 9-1-1 call.

The gunman was shot and killed although it is unclear whether police shot him or he took his own life.

The gunman's brother is in the hospital under police guard.
